Just wanted to share my experience on the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra - World of Tres in Toronto; because I definitely need to get my thoughts out  ><

~Before the concert~

My boyfriend and I got to the venue around 7:15pm. Despite it being 35 degrees with hot and sticky humidity; I toughed it out and full cosplayed as KH 3 Kairi!

Beforehand, I had arranged to meet up with 2 cosplayers that had traveled from Alberta also to attend the concert. It was my first time meeting them so I was quite excited to meet them along with fellow KH fans/cosplayers at the venue >w<. I was able to find the 2 cosplayers pretty easily in the crowded in the main lobby area. They were cosplaying as formal Sora and Riku; so we were able to complete the Destiny Trio <3

After taking a couple of selfie and camera shots, they kindly started to lead me to the merchandise line. But, before we were able to make our way. We were stopped by another concert goer that wanted our photo. After she took our photo, she gave us all a super cute Sora sticker T^T.

We gave her our thanks and continued our way to the merchandise line. They had following merchandise available for sale at the table.

There were web exclusive items on the http://khshop.wildfaery.com that you could order w/ free shipping. However the prices on the site are in EUR/USD.

My goal was to purchase the program and the poster (the other merchandise I wanted were the web exclusive items). Sadly, I was only able to purchase the poster as all the programs were sold out. However, it was a big nice quality poster! Luckily, you are able to purchase the program via the online store too :)

After shopping, we just chilled around the main lobby area and I asked my boyfriend to take some shots of me in front of the sign. While we were doing that, another KH 3 Kairi came up to me and asked if she may take a photo with me; of course I had to ask her for the same request -w-

By this time it was around 7:45pm, and the concert starts at 8pm. So we decided to head to our seat on the balcony level. (When we attended the last tour's concert in Vegas we were on the ground level in the middle rows; which was nice! But I wanted to try being on the balcony level for this tour)

From there, my boyfriend and I just chatted until the concert started...and of course taking selfies in our seats XD

~Part I concert starts! - 8pm~

Before they started playing, there was announcement made to let people know that photography and video recording was not allowed during the concert. Of course, there will be some people who will probably break this rule as a video of the encore song was posted on Youtube from the Singapore showing (will link it at the end of this blog post).

The concert begins with the 'Dearly Beloved from KINGDOM HEARTS III' and on the screen they showed all the CGI cinematic openings from all the Kingdom Hearts games (KH 3 opening parts were only in the beginning and ending of the segment just showing Sora). Very nostalgic and probably my 2nd favorite rendition of Dearly Beloved; 1st being KH 2's Dearly Beloved.

On the screen, they played scenes from the respective games they were playing T^T again...nostalgia. Personally my favorite(s) from the above list was Music from Kingdom hearts II and Xion's theme from the 358/2 Days segment. I have to admit I did tear up a little bit during her theme ;a; it was too good omggg.

The last song they played before the 15 minute intermission was Diabolic Bash which was huge compilation of all the boss themes throughout the games leading up to KH 3. Songs that I can remember they played in this medley were:

Shrouding Dark Cloud

Destiny's Force

The Deep End

Tension Raising

Desire For All That is Lost

Vim and Vigor

The Encounter (one of of my personal favs)

Another Side (another fav)

Rage Awakened

L'Impeto Oscuro

This song was probably the longest out of all the songs played throughout the concert and it was definitely a fitting one to end the first half of the concert! Part I ended around 8:55ish.

~Part I end - 15 minute intermission~

Not much happened during the intermission, just went to do a 'in-case' washroom break and chatted with my boyfriend. The only cool thing that happened was I ran into a really pretty formal Aqua cosplayer :)

~Part II concert starts - 9:10pm~

They open the second part of concert with 'Face my Fears -KINGDOM Orchestra Instrumental Version-'. The audience cheered and clapped as we never heard this Orchestral version of KH 3's opening so it was pretty hype. The orchestra played along with the KH 3 opening shown on screen and they were pretty on point <3. Personally, even though I really appreciated this piece; I didn't enjoy it as much as the original opening because I really liked the energy of Face my Fears.

The next songs that followed were:

Symphonic Suite: The Worlds of Tres I -Of Gods and Toys-

Symphonic Suite: The Worlds of Tres II -Tangled with Scares-

Symphonic Suite: The Worlds of Tres III -A Frozen Fracas-

Symphonic Suite The Worlds of Tres IV -A Pirate's Tale-

Symphonic Suite: The Worlds of Tres V -A Hero's Journey-

Overture to the Decisive Battle

All the Symphonic Suite we're compilations of the Disney world's field and battle themes/gummi ship themes. On screen they showed cut scenes from the respective world's. It was so cool that during the Toy story segment everyone (including the audience) snapped their fingers during that part of the song. 

Suite V was one slight exception regarding what was played: it was a compilation of Big Hero 6 music, Keyblade Graveyard, The Final World and it ends with the battle theme when you fight the Xehanort clones.

Overture to the Decisive Battle was a compilations of all the boss themes in the Keyblade Graveyard and it was lit af. Especially during the segment with The Other Promise/Vector to the Heavens.

After that, the orchestral version of Hikari/Simple and Clean was played while the ending scene of KH 3 was playing in screen -w-

The last song played was the ending credits of KH 3 'Rhapsody in Tres for Piano, Chorus and Orchestra'. 

...

Of course! Being an orchestra generally you will have an encore song after giving the them a standing ovation. 

The encore song they played was the orchestral version of Chikai/Don't Think Twice. At first it was played in-line with the ending scene where everyone is at the beach and we see Sora and Kairi sitting on the Paopu Tree looking at the sunset. Afterward, it shows all the Sora x Kairi moments throughout ALL KH games :')

As the song ends, on screen; it shows Sora fading along with the sunset and Kairi looking down in sadness T^T. And that is how the concert ends!

~Concert ends - 10:30pm~

After the concert, I coordinated to get some photos taken with the AB cosplayers with my camera because I never got a chance to ask them when we first met up xD here is a photo dump of all the pics we took! People also asked to get our photos to while we were trying to do our pics.

~Last thoughts~

I definitely felt like World of Tres was a lot better than the World Tour showing we went to in Las Vegas last year. The conductor: Alexandra Cravero was just full of energy and looked like she was having fun conducting throughout the entire concert! Cosplaying made the experience alot more fun too as I met so many other cosplayers that obviously liked the series as much as I do!
I also really liked how the formatted this concert too. The first part was just a homage to all the KH games that lead up to KH 3; and then the second part was all KH 3 songs. I will for sure go to the next KH concert if they do another next year <3
